Forest, Farm, and Community Tree Network (FACT Net)
Extensive information on nitrogen-fixing and other multipurpose trees. In 1995
the Nitrogen Fixing Tree Association (NFTA) was absorbed into FACT Net, which
closed in 1999. The website is now maintained by Winrock International as an excellent
on-line resource.

Acroforestry Research Trust
"A non-profit making charity, registered in England, which researches into
temperate agroforestry and into all aspects of plant cropping and uses, with
a focus on tree, shrub and perennial crops."

Agroforester
Based in Hawaii, extensive information online related to agroforestry especially in tropical areas. Also sells
seedlings, tree seeds and related products.

Forest Garden Initiative
"Working for the establishment of productive Forest Gardens in rural communities around the world (currently
being implemented in Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Mexico, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Peru, Australia, and
Canada). This program directly empowers rural farmers to produce a broad range of organic products
that increases incomes and forest cover, while also restoring local biodiversity."
Association for Temperate Agroforestry at the University of Missouri
A private, nonprofit organization formed in 1991. The mission of AFTA is to promote the wider adoption of
agroforestry by landowners in temperate regions of North America. Agroforestry practices combine trees and
shrubs with crops and/or livestock to increase and diversify farm and forest production while conserving natural
resources.
